Robert 'Rabbie' Burns was born in 1759 and made a living as a tenant farmer. However, he also wrote poetry throughout his life; much of it in Scots vernacular. His work was famous during his lifetime but he is still widely celebrated as the national poet of Scotland to this day. Burns died aged just 37 in 1796.
This Pocket Book contains 15 of Burn's ballads and poems on a theme of love and lust including A Red Red Rose, My Jean and Auld Lang Syne. The cover is a drawing by Christopher Fiddes.
